Dr. Jaegak Kim earned his undergraduate degree with honors in Biophysics before completing a Master of Science in Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of British Columbia. His path to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was sparked by a profound personal experience when he was treated as a patient for a severe jaw infection—an event that ultimately inspired his career dedication to the field.

Dr. Kim relocated to Boston to attend the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) national dental honor society. He then completed his rigorous specialty training through the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Boston Medical Center. This robust clinical foundation fully prepared him to practice the comprehensive scope of maxillofacial surgery.

A Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), Dr. Kim maintains a strong clinical interest in full-scope dentoalveolar surgery, including complex extractions, dental implants, full-arch reconstruction, advanced bone grafting, and orthognathic (jaw) surgery. Committed to the highest standards of patient safety and comfort, he is fully certified in IV Sedation, as well as BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Kim is a dedicated father to his son, Yul. A passionate long-distance runner, he is actively training to fulfill his goal of running the Boston Marathon. He is also an avid soccer fan and enjoys exploring the diverse culinary landscape of the Boston metropolitan area. Dr. Kim is proud to offer care to his patients fluently in both English and Korean.
